Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah led the Golden Centenary closing ceremony of ADC Bank in Jetalpur, Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma also graced the event. On this occasion, Shri Amit Shah launched ADC Bank’s Cyber Security and Safety Pilot Project under the motto “Be Aware, Be Secure.”
Recalling ADC Bank’s journey, Shri Amit Shah highlighted how 25 years ago, the bank was struggling with losses. However, with the trust of farmers and animal husbandry communities, strategic efforts turned it profitable within a year. Today, ADC Bank has a ₹17,000 crore turnover, zero non-performing assets (NPA), and is among the 260 cooperative banks with 100% e-banking compliance under RBI guidelines.
He emphasized the cooperative movement’s future, stating that in the next five years, two lakh cooperative societies and milk producer committees will join, further expanding into areas like seed production and motorist services.
Shri Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision in creating India’s first Ministry of Cooperation, which has introduced over 60 key reforms. Under his leadership, cooperative banks have become stronger, more transparent, and RBI-regulated. Today, the cooperative sector supports 8 lakh institutions across 29 industries, including medicine, fuel, warehousing, and water management.
CM Bhupendra Patel highlighted that PM Modi and Amit Shah’s leadership has reshaped cooperative banking, ensuring its competitiveness and credibility. He noted that the banking sector will be crucial in making India the world’s third-largest economy in PM Modi’s third term. ADC Bank, with its 100-year legacy, has remained strong even against nationalized banks.
He acknowledged Shri Amit Shah’s role in turning ADC Bank into a profit-making institution within a year, crediting his visionary approach and strategic leadership. He urged ADC Bank to participate in eco-friendly initiatives like ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and ‘Catch the Rain’ for a sustainable future.
Minister of State Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma stated that Gujarat’s cooperative sector is thriving, with a ₹4 lakh crore turnover significantly benefiting rural areas. He emphasized ADC Bank’s commitment to ‘Sahkar Thi Samruddhi’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat.’
ADC Bank Chairman Shri Ajay Patel highlighted the bank’s rapid growth under Shri Amit Shah’s leadership, positioning it among India’s leading cooperative banks. He reaffirmed its role in achieving PM Modi’s vision of making India the world’s fifth-largest economy.
The event also showcased ADC Bank’s achievements through an audiovisual presentation. Attendees included MPs, MLAs, bank officials, cooperative leaders, and farmers, alongside religious figures from Jetalpur Swaminarayan Mandir.
